Dick Turpin - The Panto

Run time estimate - 2 hours and 15 minutes (Including Interval)

Set in the bustling city of York, this riotous pantomime follows Dick Potter, a good-hearted young man who returns home from college to help his mother Betty run her famously questionable Pork Pie Emporium. But all is not well in York — the scheming magistrate Sir Jasper Clutch has a stranglehold on the town, squeezing every penny from its residents while secretly plotting to tear down the ancient forest, evict elderly tollkeeper Tom Bowler, and replace it all with a road lined with his own fast food outlets.

When Dick falls for Tom's sweet daughter Lizzie and discovers that Clutch has been robbing the townsfolk blind, he dons a mask and takes to the highway as the legendary Dick Turpin, robbing from the rich to give back to the poor — with the help of his dim but loveable brother Stan, resourceful sister Delilah, and faithful steed Black Bess.

But Clutch won't give up without a fight. Dick is captured and sentenced to hang, and Lizzie is forced to promise her hand in marriage to the villain in exchange for his life. Can Dick escape the gallows, outwit Clutch's bumbling henchmen Winge and Gripe, retrieve the stolen gold, and save both Lizzie and the forest — before it's too late?

With the help of the magical Fairy Flutterbye and the unstoppable force of nature that is Betty Potter, York's most unlikely hero must stand and deliver!
